Shop Tiger

A tiger face lives or dies on the stripe work over a solid orange base, and the range here is chosen with that in mind. Start with TAG Body Art Face Paint Cake 32g Orange or the paler Golden Orange, then block in the muzzle and chin with Paradise's 40g Black cake before the stripes go on. For a pre-blended option, Diamond FX's 50g Splitcake #6 Tiger and the 30g #13 Inferno carry the orange to black gradient in one cake, so there is no mixing on the palette between faces.

Getting the stripes right

TAG's 30g One Stroke in Flame is a single loaded brush stroke that fans out into a tapered stripe rather than a straight line, which suits the shape across a cheekbone. The Big Cat Smile stencil (B02) gives a consistent muzzle and nose if you are painting several tigers in a row at a party, and Cameleon's Base Line Fire Red and Marina Yellow cakes are worth keeping alongside the oranges for a redder or more lemon toned tiger.
