Face Painting Petal Brushes

A petal brush has a curved, pointed belly that lays down a teardrop or petal shape in a single stroke, which is why Heart Face Art names two versions after it directly: the Petal and the slightly rounder Flora. Xin Bowen's No. 4 Petal Brush and No. 5 Flora Brush cover the same two shapes in a different bristle.

What it replaces

Without a petal brush, painting a flower, butterfly wing or scale pattern means loading and reloading a round brush for every stroke. A curved petal shape holds enough paint to pull a full petal in one movement, which speeds up any design built from repeated curved marks, such as butterflies or mermaid scales.

Petal shapes also turn up inside larger sets, including the Crystal Collection and Rainbow Crystal Brushes ranges, so you do not always need to buy the shape on its own. A pointed round brush handles a similar curve with a sharper tip, and the shop's own petal shape lives inside the wider Heart Face Art lineup.
