Fusion Body Art

Fusion Body Art is Australian owned, which is part of why it has such a following here. The colour naming, the artist collaborations and the palette choices are made with Australian painters in mind. Fusion is also open about how it is made: the paint is produced in China under the brand's own supervision, and Fusion publishes vegan friendly, cruelty free, gluten free, paraben free, lanolin free and perfume free claims along with European and United States compliance information for the range.

Where Fusion is strongest

If you paint at parties and events, Fusion's one strokes are the reason to keep this brand in the kit. A single loaded brush lays several colours at once, so butterflies, crowns and dragon wings come out in a fraction of the strokes. The split cake palettes take the same idea and put a full set in one tray, which is far easier to carry than a box of loose cakes.

Cakes, Prime colours and neons

The solid Fusion cakes come in 30g and 32g as standard, with 50g and 90g in the colours people run out of first. The Prime series is built for coverage. The neon and UV colours are what you reach for under blacklight at a school disco or a festival stall. There are also ready made Fusion kits if you would rather buy a complete working set in one go, and Fusion glitter to finish a design.

Fusion or TAG?

Both are water activated and both are excellent, so this comes down to feel. Painters tend to describe Fusion as slightly softer and quicker to activate, and TAG as firmer with very heavy coverage. Most working kits that come through our Melbourne shop hold both: TAG for solid base colours, Fusion for one stroke work.
