How do you use a stencil for a clean result?
Hold the stencil flat against the skin, load a sponge with a fairly dry face paint, then dab rather than wipe. Lift the stencil straight off to avoid smudging. Black and white cakes give the sharpest contrast, and you can add colour with a small brush afterwards. Clean the stencil between guests with a damp cloth so old paint never transfers to the next face, and store them flat.
