Face Painting Round Brushes

Round brushes are the ones most face painters reach for first, and this page runs from Mont Marte's no. 4 up to its no. 16, alongside TAG Body Art's no. 2, no. 4 and no. 6 rounds and Heart Face Art's No.2, No.4 and No.6. The number refers to the ferrule width, so a low number gives a fine point for small dots and a higher number holds more paint for filling in bigger shapes.

Picking a size

• No. 2 to No. 4: dots, small stars, whiskers and outlines
• No. 6 to No. 8: cheeks, noses and small shapes
• No. 12 and up: filling large areas quickly

A round brush comes to a pointed tip, which is the main thing that separates it from a filbert brush, whose rounded flat edge is built for softer blending rather than a crisp point.
