The bits that make a Santa suit look like the real thing. Anyone playing Santa at a shopping centre, school, workplace party or community event needs more than the red suit, and this is the short list that matters.

Santa gloves

Long white Santa gloves in two versions, plain and embroidered with the SC logo. Long enough to sit properly under the jacket cuff so no wrist shows when Santa lifts an arm, which is exactly where cheap costume gloves give the game away.

Beards, eyebrows and wigs

Spirit Gum is the adhesive professionals use to fix a beard, moustache or eyebrows in place so they survive a full day of photos. Spirit Gum Remover takes it off again without tugging at skin, and the two are also sold together as a pack. Do not try to remove spirit gum with soap and water.

White for hair and brows

White face paint and white hair colour to grey off eyebrows, sideburns and hairline so a younger Santa reads convincingly on camera.

Ordering for December

Santa bookings are made months ahead and so are costume repairs. Order early, because spirit gum and white hair colour are the two things that run out first in the last week before Christmas.
