Traditional Rainbow Split Cakes
This is the rainbow you picture when someone says split cake: bands of colour running side by side in classic order, ready to lay in one loaded stroke. Diamond FX's #5 Flabbergasted Rainbow, plus its #4 Tropical Rainbow, sit alongside TAG's Rainbow 4 and Rainbow 6, and Fusion's Bright Rainbow 50g and Spring Rainbow 30g, plus Cameleon's RainbowWOW and Jelly Bean Colourblocks. There is also a Mystery Splitcake here for anyone happy to be surprised by whatever comes in the tin.
Rainbow, not neon or pastel
These cakes read as rainbow in daylight, which is what most parties and school fetes need. If a booking is under blacklight or at a night event, the colours here will look flat; go to neon UV split cakes instead, where the same rainbow idea is built from fluoro pigments. For a softer, muted version of the same band-of-colour idea, see soft pastel split cakes.
Good first cake for anyone building a kit from scratch, since a rainbow does the most designs per tin.
