TAG Body Art

TAG Body Art is the range most Australian face painters build a kit around, and it is the largest single brand in our Melbourne warehouse. TAG is a water activated, wax based paint, which is where its dense coverage and its firm feel under a wet brush come from. It loads heavy, it does not crack as it dries, and a little goes a long way.

Which TAG size do you need?

• 10g singles are for trying a colour before you commit, or filling a gap in a travel kit.
• 32g is the standard working cake and the size we stock most deeply. Start here for whites, blacks and primaries: browse TAG face paint cakes.
• 50g and 90g are for the colours you burn through. If you are painting a school fete queue, buy white in 90g and stop thinking about it.
• 30g one strokes and 50g split cakes load several colours on a single brush stroke. This is the fastest way to lift a queue design from plain to finished: see TAG split cakes and 50g split cakes.

Strong White, Strong Black and why they matter

TAG makes both a standard and a Strong version of white and black. The Strong cakes are formulated for opacity, so one pass covers instead of three. If you are outlining over a dark base or laying a skull face, Strong White and Strong Black will save you time, paint and a lot of reloading.

Beyond the paint

We also carry TAG brushes and sponges, including the half moon and petal sponges most painters use for bases, TAG glitter and bio glitter, and cases, palettes and accessories. TAG states that its standard and pearl colours use FDA compliant pigments, and full ingredient and safety information is published on each product page.
